Born with the Moon in Ashlesha

In Vedic astrology, the mansion the Moon was in when you were born is your birth star. It also sets where your life’s chapters (dashas) begin: a life born under Ashlesha begins in a Mercury chapter.

A chapter of learning and trade: study, writing, business and connections.

A whole Mercury chapter lasts 17 years. You arrive partway through it, depending on how far the Moon had travelled through Ashlesha.

Nakshatras are counted in the sidereal zodiac, which follows the stars. It sits about 24° behind the tropical zodiac most Western horoscopes use, so your Moon’s Western sign and its Vedic sign can differ.
